Definition · UHNW Concierge · Reference article
This article aims to exhaustively define what a UHNW concierge service is, to delimit its scope of services, and to clearly distinguish it from neighboring professions (butler, family office, classic luxury concierge service). It is aimed as much at UHNWIs seeking to understand this service as at professionals in the sector.
Definition: what is a UHNW concierge service?
A UHNW (Ultra High Net Worth) concierge service is a private services company dedicated to individuals with a net worth greater than $30 million (the threshold commonly used by Knight Frank, Capgemini and Wealth-X to qualify as UHNWI). Unlike a classic luxury concierge service which handles one-off requests (restaurant reservations, show tickets), a UHNW concierge service orchestras the entire daily and exceptional life of its client: residential logistics, international travel, household staff, security, management of private events, and coordination with financial and legal advisors.
The model is based on a dedicated concierge — sometimes called a personal butler, lifestyle manager or personal chief of staff — who is intimately familiar with his client's preferences, network and constraints. This concierge is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Scope of services of a UHNW concierge service
The services of a UHNW concierge cover nine main areas:
1. Residential management
Supervision of residences (main and secondary), coordination of household staff (housekeeper, gardener, private chef, driver), monitoring of maintenance and work, management of suppliers. For multi-residence clients, the concierge ensures the preparation of each home before the client's arrival.
2. Mobility and transport
Organization of travel: private jets (charter or ownership), transfers by vehicle with driver, automobile logistics (transportation of vehicles between residences), yacht management (crew, itineraries, ports).
3. House staff
Recruitment, training and management of domestic staff: private chef, butler, housekeeper, nanny, tutor, bodyguard. The concierge ensures continuity of service in the event of the absence of a member of staff.
4. Security and Privacy
Coordination of physical and digital security systems, management of confidentiality protocols, secure travel, audit of residential risks.
5. Private events
Design and production of tailor-made events: birthdays, receptions, private business dinners, family ceremonies. From 10 to 500 guests, in exclusive locations or at the client's home.
6. Travel and experiences
Design of tailor-made itineraries, reservation of exclusive hotels and restaurants, access to experiences closed to the public (visitprivate museums, vertical tastings on estates, Fashion Week backstage).
7. Health and wellness
Medical coordination (making appointments, second international medical opinion), organization of health check-ups in private clinics, spas and home coaching.
8. Education and Philanthropy
Support in school registrations of excellence (international high schools, boarding schools), preparation of university files, structuring of philanthropic projects.
9. Exceptional acquisitions
Research and acquisition of rare goods: works of art, collector's watches (off-market), prestigious vehicles, rare wines, off-market properties.
