A typical day for a dedicated UHNWI concierge in Strasbourg: from 7 a.m. to midnight emergencies

What does a dedicated UHNWI concierge actually do in a day? Storytelling operational from 7 a.m. to midnight. Each hour tells a job that no one shows.

We talk a lot about luxury concierge services. We rarely show what this means on a daily basis. Here is a typical day — reconstructed from hundreds of real days — of a dedicated UHNWI concierge based in Strasbourg.

7:00 a.m. — Morning briefing

The phone vibrates. Not an alarm — a Signal message from Mrs. K.: “The children need their ski outfits for Friday. They are in the Vosges chalet. The chalet has been closed since March. » First problem of the day. It will be resolved before 9 a.m.: our local service provider will open the chalet, collect the outfits, and have them delivered by courier to the main residence before school leaves on Friday morning.

8:30 a.m. — Medical coordination

Mr. K.'s father has a cardiology follow-up appointment at 10:30 a.m. Our dedicated driver picks him up at 9:45 a.m., accompanies him to the office, waits in the vehicle, and takes him back. A discreet SMS confirms that everything went well. Mr. K. didn't have to organize anything.

10:00 a.m. — The supplier who fails

The caterer planned for Saturday's dinner cancels. 35 seats. Gourmet vegetarian menu. We activate our network: in 45 minutes, a private chef from our notebook confirms his availability. He prepares a replacement menu which we validate with Madame K. by voice message at 11:15 a.m. Crisis resolved. The customer will never know there was a problem.

12:00 p.m. — The lunch that is never lunch

While we eat a sandwich at the office, we manage at the same time: the confirmation of a reservation at Buerehiesel for Tuesday evening (table of 6, garden window, mention of the Japanese guest's fish allergies), checking the maintenance contract for the swimming pool at the second home, and ordering 3 cases of Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg from a partner winemaker.

2:30 p.m. — The impossible request

Mr K. is calling. “I need a gift for my Korean partner. He leaves tomorrow morning. Something Alsatian, unique, memorable. Not wine. » In 90 minutes: we contact a master glassmaker from Meisenthal, obtain a signed contemporary piece (limited series), have it packaged in a tailor-made box with a card in Korean, and deliver it to the partner's hotel before 6 p.m.

5:00 p.m. — Holiday logistics

The February holidays are now being prepared. Chalet reserved in Megève, private ski instructor booked for the children (the same as last year — they love it), private chef confirmed for 10 of the 14 days, helicopter transfer Strasbourg → Megève on the day of departure. Everything is in a secure shared document that Madame K. validates with one click.

7:30 p.m. — End of the day (theoretical)

The desktop closes, but the phone remains on. Last check: the caretaker of the Vosges property confirms that the boiler has been serviced (we had scheduled the intervention 3 weeks ago). Meter readings are sent to the manager. Everything is in order.

11:15 p.m. — The emergency that can't wait

Signal message from Mr. K.: “My flight to Zurich tomorrow at 7 a.m. is canceled. Critical meeting at 10 a.m. » In 20 minutes: transfer by car to EuroAirport booked at 5 a.m., replacement flight identified via Basel-Mulhouse at 6:40 a.m. (arrival Zurich 7:25 a.m.), Swiss driver confirmed for the airport → office journey. At 11:40 p.m., Mr. K. receives the complete itinerary. He can sleep.

What this day reveals

A dedicated UHNWI concierge doesn't sell luxury — they sell time, peace and competence. Every day is different, but the principle remains the same: anticipate before the customer asks, resolve before they worry, and disappear before they notice.
